In spring 2008, a band of people calling themselves Ahráyeph, fronted by Raf Jansen who was a fulltime member of the acclaimed metal band ANCIENT RITES (main composer on the album “Rubicon”) emerges from Belgium with their impressive debut on D-Monic (known for releases of Gary Marx, Corpus Delicti ...).

Ahráyeph mixes with great inspiration influences by the likes of Fields Of The Nephilim, The Sisters Of Mercy, The God Machine, Paradise Lost and several other bands across the Goth Rock/Metal spectrum.

From the brashness and edge of nymphomaniacal accusation called 'Lilith', to the Post Punk, early Goth Rock tribute to fleeting life and society's perverse obsession with youth of 'Memories', the heady, atmospherical lovelorn trilogy 'The Rain Suite', the club hits ‘Distanced', ‘Lilith' and everything in between, 'Marooned On Samsara' has it all. The songs' lyrical subjects perfectly tie in with the album's title : "Samsara means 'passing through states of Being'", Raf says. "Be it in one life or in many, some experiences can make one feel lost, marooned, as it were, on the cycles of Life. These songs portray the personal observations I've made on what can make a person or a whole society feel marooned on their winding ways in life. This album is the Emergence of The Marooned".

Moreover the album is packed in a beautiful digipak on matte varnish paper with an 8 pages booklet. Ahráyeph “Marooned On Samsara” is an impressive debut album which is quickly going to establish this Belgian band at the top of the modern gothic tock scene!!!
